The Peoples Democratic Party has opened formal administrative channels with the Independent National Electoral Commission following the omission of its candidates from the final governorship list for the 2027 elections. The omission was observed following INEC’s weekend publication of official candidate rosters on its online portal.
National Publicity Secretary Jungudo Haruna Mohammed confirmed that the party is addressing the development with absolute priority, seeking a lawful and amicable resolution in accordance with established electoral guidelines. The party urged affected flagbearers, campaign teams, and supporters nationwide to maintain composure while legal engagements proceed.
The published INEC roster featured 13 governorship candidates in Ogun State and 16 in Gombe State, notably excluding any PDP representation in both jurisdictions. High-profile candidates affected by the exclusion include Ladi Adebutu in Ogun State and former minister Isa Ali Pantami in Gombe State.
